Our algorithm thrives on precision. To make sure you find exactly what you're looking for, use these strategies.
Normally, you should always enter the nearest major hub. Living in Ipswich but heading to Brisbane for a gig? Enter "Brisbane" – that way you can easily coordinate and travel together.
For massive regional events (like a music festival or footy match in the middle of nowhere), people scattered across different suburbs might miss each other. In these cases, simply enter "Australia" as the city and put the exact event name in the Specifics field.
- ✓Standard: Nearest major city hub (e.g., Brisbane instead of Ipswich)
- ✓Major Regional Events: City: "Australia" + Event Name in Specifics
- ✓Think Ahead: What are other people in your area most likely to type in?
Since we match keywords exactly, think about what's popular in your area. Weigh up whether it's better to search for a specific venue or the activity itself.
Looking for a buddy to go bushwalking around Sydney? "Bushwalking" is a great keyword, but using a famous location like "Blue Mountains" often attracts more people who might be flexible on the exact trail.

For niche or harder searches (like a gym buddy for your specific local club), the odds of finding someone on the exact same calendar day can be low. The solution? Put the last day of the current month as your date.
This pools all niche requests together. If User A fills out the form on April 4th and User B on April 22nd, and both select April 30th, our algorithm matches them instantly – and both get notified on April 22nd!
